I finished 'Flying Colours' at the weekend and started another book which seemed like a western so I quickly deleted that and started reading Eleanor Catton's first book.
Still a long book I am hoping I will enjoy it as her books seem to need concentration to follow the small details which connect the plot. I need to read more local books but often find them dull compared to international writing. As this book is set in a girls school I am sure I will be able to link it to my own experience working in an all girl's school.
I have almost finished reading "French Illusions' so I am guessing that Linda will soon have a run-in with the dreadful Madame Du Bois and go her own merry way. I think the way she is treated at the chateau is dreadful and as Linda has asked me to email her when I have read the book I will have some pertinent comments to make.
I am not sure what I will read next but hope it is as page turning as Linda's book. I am now more confident downloading books from the Blind Foundation for my VRS so as soon as I see a good book listed or reviewed I will download and store in my computer.
Tomorrow I have to visit the eye specialist, the first visit in 8 months. I hope I am not there as long as I was last time, it was so disorganised. Perhaps he will be able to offer me some advice on my migraines, but doubt it will be ground-breaking. This week is very busy so reading is my time for relaxation.
The setting for Linda's books
